Why vote for me?

Water

We live in a desert. Water is scarce. Droughts are part of the climate, not temporary problems. Conservation, recycling, and studying usage patterns will help but not save us. Wasting water is not a choice. States have legal control over water but water crosses national, state, and county lines. the complex, conflicting laws and practices need coordination and compromise.

We all have to be wiser.

Data Centers

Data centers do not belong in deserts,

population centers, or wilderness areas.

They use huge amounts of very clean water. The generate so much heat that the ambient temperature rises significantly. The continual noise irritates neighbors.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is already in your phone, in searches, and your data.

When you query AI, the algorithm - the fundamental design of the AI - tries to please you. A Stanford study shows that AI will offer questionable or illegal advice just to agree with you. For academic queries, the AI will use professional flattery that sounds neutral. This tricky issue must be handled.

Divisive Loyalty

Political party loyalty often runs in families for generations. When I was young, the Republican party promised lower taxes and smaller government. No more. The National debt is 40 trillion dollars. Military and federal policing have bulging budgets. Medieval governments focus on war. Modern governments focus on citizen support of medical care, education, and infrastructure. Those dollars are disappearing. Please consider the issues rather than the political party when voting.

Values

Family is the center of my life. Where I lived, where I worked, and how I played was all based on what I believed was best for my family. As a small-town principal, I could eat lunch with my children, be there for their emergencies, and be knowledgeable about the events and people in their lives. Our weekends were hiking, swimming, kayaking, riding, skiing, skating...all with our own and other families.

We are a family of readers. We are concerned about the welfare of our community and the world.

What I've done

Honestly, mostly I have loved and honored children. I supported teachers so that they could be kind. I listened and provided training and equipment as needed. I set the standard of high expectations from everyone. I was inclusive and encouraged the Paiute tribe's dance program, language program and Pow Wow and recognized California Indian Day. I successfully established an anti-bullying program.

Yes, it was fun and amazing.

Who Am I?

The Boring Bit

I loved college. I have a degree in History with a minor in Environmental studies. I graduated Suma Cum Laude. Then I continued to get a master's degree in History and Education. I continued to get four educational credentials. The best one is my Reading Specialist credential which gives me a jedi sword to fix reading problems.

I have been lucky to enjoy every job that I have had. I have taugh every grade except 6th. I have been a reading specialist. I have been a vice principal at a poor school and a rich school. I have been a principal at a large school that served everybody. As principal, I worked with teachers, students, parents, cooks, bus drivers, maintenance, IT, plumbers, contractors, crosswalk guards, after school childcare providers, local preschools, police, federal agents, and child protective services. I can communicate. I can compromise.I can lead
